This year, there are three committees: the travel committee, the activities committee, and the cooking committee. We're especially still looking for members for the activities committee! If you join, you can dedicate as much time as you like.
The travel committee consists of two parts: the small and the large travel committee. The small travel committee is responsible for the smaller trips: a trip in January lasting a few days, a trip in the spring, and possibly a trip for the mostniki and mostnitsy in Daugavpils. The large travel committee dedicates all its time to organising the annual long trip during the summer holidays, during which we travel for one to two weeks to a former Soviet country.
Being a member of the activities committee primarily involves coming up with fun activity ideas and helping to organise them (think of arranging a venue, creating posters, etc.) Depending on your availability, you'll likely spend 3-10 hours per month on this committee.
The members of the cooking committee prepare the two dinners: Orthodox Christmas and Maslenitsa. You will cook elaborate meals for this committee twice a year, potentially helping with the organisation of the dinners. Throughout the year, you may also prepare delicious treats for other activities. This will require at least the time needed to prepare a dinner with your fellow members (probably about a day) twice a year, and several hours of organising time for both dinners (creating the menu, shopping, etc.)
